Florence Co. investigators travel to Brunswick County for human remains, missing person case

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Florence County investigators are in Brunswick County, N.C., in connection with human remains found in three plastic containers at a home just outside of Lake City, according to Florence County Sheriff T.J. Joye.
It centers around the investigation of a missing woman.
Charles Edward Antwine Jr., 56, has been arrested in the ongoing investigation of the missing woman in Brunswick County.
According to a release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, a missing persons report from Brunswick County led Florence County Sheriff’s Office investigators to charge Antwine with desecration of human remains.
Relatives reported Christy Thomas Ward and Antwine missing from their home in Brunswick County last week.
